I delivered a talk titled "Geometric Algebra: It's not Algebraic Geometry!" at the 2024 CUMC/CCÉM.Observations
Here are some observations that shape my worldview:
- Fact and opinion aren't complements, nor are they even well-defined concepts.
- Everything you know is a projection by your senses onto consciousness. If you pay careful attention, thoughts, feelings, and perceptions are really the same type of thing.
- Language is a game of applying measures or judgments to the world according to certain, often-unspoken rulesets. By nature, language can only point at the world through measurements qualified by such rulesets.
Personal Computing
My setup consists of a Macbook Air and an old Thinkpad running FreeBSD. I use the following software:
- Sway as a window manager
- tofi as an application launcher
- kitty or iTerm as a terminal emulator
- Bash or Zsh as a shell
- Neovim as a text editor, or VS Code for visual stuff
- Typst as a typesetting language
- qutebrowser or Arc as a web browser
My dotfiles are (partially) available on GitHub. I haven't gotten around to pushing all of them, yet.
